Data Architect
Description
As a Data Architect at FedEx, you will play a key role in driving the architecture, design, and implementation of data systems that support our business objectives. This position requires a strategic thinker who is capable of translating complex business requirements into technical solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing system requirements, program specifications, and conducting code/unit tests to ensure business specifications are met for large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide initiative in the development and execution of system specifications and test plans, ensuring high-quality deliverables for complex projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data models and architecture strategies that align with business goals.
- Provide leadership in modeling and documenting the interfaces between systems including request/response APIs as well as asynchronous messaging.
- Lead system and integration tests, ensuring alignment with business needs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering their development and encouraging best practices in data architecture and engineering.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to help innovate and enhance FedEx's data architecture capabilities.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to apply basic computer concepts, theories, principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and/or questions.
Domicile: The preferred domicile for this role is Memphis, TN, or Pittsburgh, PA, with Memphis being ideal. If the selected candidate is based in Memphis or Pittsburgh, the position will follow a hybrid work model. For the right candidate, a fully remote work arrangement may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: US pay range: $8,007 to $14,413 monthly
