Data Architect

Description

Under limited supervision, creates project level data architecture artifacts for specific projects.

Essential Functions

• Working with the business, it and other architects, facilitates the creation and evaluation of data models, data governance data strategy through the review of requirements and use cases to recommend project level artifacts with strategic initiatives and with the standard methodologies for development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to apply basic computer concepts, theories, principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and/or questions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Data Modeling: Expert knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Azure (Synapse, Data Factory), Google Cloud (BigQuery) or AWS (Redshift, Glue).
• Proficiency with ER Studio (or other tools like ERwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, or Visio).
• Knowledge of architectural design tools like Sparx
• Strong understanding of structured data like JSON and XML
• Big Data & Streaming: Experience with Hadoop, Apache Spark, and real-time streaming tools like Apache Kafka.
• Database Systems: Mastery of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) like SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, alongside NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or HBase.
• Data Warehousing: Designing and maintaining enterprise data warehouses and understanding architectures like Star Schema or Snowflake Schema.
• ETL/ELT Pipelines: Designing processes for Extract, Transform, and Load using tools like Talend, Informatica, or dbt.

Pay: $8,452.14/mo - $14,368.63/mo

Additional Details: This position is eligible for telecommuting and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories. This position will report to Mgr Joshua Anderson. Posting will close Monday, Feb.16,2026. Compensation Grade: FEC_E28.
