Job Summary:

Takes ownership over select data science initiatives. Advances ACCs’ broad capabilities to use and deploy cutting edge data science and machine learning tools and methods in ACCs projects, platforms and products. Anchors current best practices by driving the design and build of reusable data science assets. Simultaneously, work to keep ACCs on the bleeding edge by understanding the very latest and most sophisticated methods and tools for grappling with extremely large scale and complex problems. Leads junior data scientists in modeling and development to support operations initiatives and strategic programs, through the use of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and ensemble modeling, advanced statistical techniques, and use of database tools and/or other approaches in mathematical analysis. Applies understanding of ML Ops, CI/CD processes and machine learning / data engineering practices to ensure sustainable model development and provide recommendations on complex problems. Provides guidance to less senior team members to drive results. Works with cross-functional teams.

A Data Science Advisor is an experienced role focused on contributing to the integration of advanced analytics and operations research methodologies within the organization. They assist in optimizing business processes and decision-making by working with cross functional teams to identify and implement data-driven solutions that align with organizational objectives. With a good grasp of both business operations and technical methodologies, they offer support and share technical expertise with ACC practitioners, aiding in the delivery of useful insights and solutions. They help to communicate ACC initiatives effectively, ensuring that their contributions are aligned with value-driven outcomes.

This role requires familiarity with data science and operations research alongside business understanding to promote innovation and improvement within the enterprise, while staying aware of current advancements and aiding in the organization's strategy to utilize these capabilities effectively.

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of the ACC function, contributing to its strategic initiatives.
• Support ACC initiatives by promoting data-driven solutions that enhance business processes.
• Provide support and assist in setting priorities for ACC projects, ensuring effective execution from hypothesis to deliverable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Support the design of user-centric products that align with business goals, enhancing decision-making.
• Clearly communicate ACC concepts to stakeholders, supporting alignment with enterprise objectives.
• Monitor project progress and support accountability for project milestones, contributing to impactful solutions.
• Assist in the development and dissemination of best practices for the DSOR discipline.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related discipline.
• Six to Seven (6-7) years’ work experience in of experience in working with teams in analytics, data science, operations research, engineering or a related field, with demonstrated leadership in managing teams and executing complex projects. Practitioner or practitioner-adjacent experience in analytics, data science, operations research, or a related fields inclusive of prototyping and rapid experimentation.
