Departmental Trainer 2nd shift
Description
The Departmental Trainer will support Operations training needs by developing, coordinating, and the presentation of departmental training material and programs. The Trainer will also assess departmental training needs, provide feedback, and conduct refresher training sessions as needed.
Ability to work with management in conducting regular assessments to determine the specific training needs of the department.
Create a structured curriculum outlining learning objectives, topics covered, and the sequence of training activities.
Develop and organize departmental training materials such as job aides, and quick tips to increase efficiency.
Use techniques like role-playing, group discussions, and hands-on activities to make sessions interactive.
Encourage trainees to ask questions and provide feedback during sessions to ensure engagement and comprehension.
Provide clear, concise instructions and explanations during training sessions using various communication methods.
Keep management and trainees informed about upcoming sessions and changes.
Be available to answer questions and provide support during and after training.
Act as a mentor to trainees, helping them apply their learned skills in their roles.
Prepare detailed assessments analyzing training effectiveness, including areas for improvement and successes.
Ability to adjust training plans based on feedback and changes in departmental priorities.
Address training-related challenges proactively, finding solutions to improve the learning experience.
Work with managers and cross-functional teams to ensure training content supports organizational objectives.
Effectively communicate departmental training content and facilitate discussions.
Involve subject matter experts in the development and delivery of training to enhance content accuracy and relevance.
Bachelor's degree in business or transportation/equivalent. Four (4) years of brokerage, logistics, or transportation industry required. Proficient with Microsoft systems required, specifically: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in FXL daily operating systems required. In-depth experience in training and ability to create departmental training material. Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, excellent time management skills, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking skills required.
CCS Certification preferred. Broker’s License preferred.
