Digital Design Fellow
Description
As the Digital Designer Fellow, Digital Product, you will play a key role in designing intuitive, engaging, and innovative digital experiences for our customers. This role is crucial to driving the user experience (UX) vision and translating complex requirements into seamless, user-centered product designs. You will work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create designs that meet both user needs and business goals. This role demands a strong portfolio, advanced design expertise, and a passion for driving design excellence across all stages of the product lifecycle.
Essential Duties:
- Design Leadership and Strategy: Lead the end-to-end design process for digital products, from concept to implementation, ensuring designs align with the strategic goals of the organization. Develop and promote design standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- User-Centered Design: Conduct user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify user pain points, needs, and behaviors. Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Partner closely with product managers and engineers to define product requirements, provide design solutions, and ensure designs are implemented as intended. Innovate and experiment with new design trends, tools, and technologies to continually improve user experience and enhance the product.
- Mentorship and Team Development: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level designers to foster their growth in design thinking, execution, and problem-solving. Share knowledge, provide constructive feedback, and support team development through design critiques and collaborative design sessions.
- Stakeholder Communication and Presentation: Present design solutions and rationale to stakeholders, clearly articulating design decisions and how they align with user needs and business goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and iterate on design concepts based on feedback.
- Design System Ownership: Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the company’s design system to ensure scalability, consistency, and coherence across all digital products. Advocate for design system usage across the product development process.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Minimum Experience
- 8+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field, with at least 3+ years in a senior or lead design role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in design tools (e.g., Figma) and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision).
- A strong portfolio showcasing a broad range of design work, including user research, wireframes, visual design, and interactive prototypes.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality digital products and user experiences across web and mobile platforms.
- Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with front-end development and ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
- Expertise in designing for complex enterprise-level applications or digital platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A passion for staying updated with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary, information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $12,476.52/month - $22,873.62/month
Additional Details: This position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week
