Summary:

Plan, organize, direct and control all efforts relative to the design, definition, development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, applications, projects and programs.

As the Managing Director, IT Global Regulatory and Global Clearance, Brokerage and Air Freight country support, you will be responsible for the country specific domain solutions around the globe, (APAC, MEISA, EU and LAC),  ensuring regulatory compliance, partnering with operations, Planning and Engineering (P&E), and global platform team to ensure country requirements are delivered in the core platforms, developing, configuring and deploying the edge/country solutions.   

Essential Functions:

  • Lead teams responsible for IT design and maintenance.
  • Provide strategic direction for systems and application enhancements.
  • Lead design projects and provide information to executives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaboration/Communication with Regional business partners.        
  • Up to 25% travel required

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Core System Development Lifecycle: Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from conception through delivery, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Architect and Deliver Simplified, Data-Driven Solutions: Design and implement software solutions with a focus on simplification, innovation, and data-driven architectures.
  • Develop and Deliver Global Platform Capabilities: Build and support platforms that enable global operational capabilities, with a focus on global clearance processes.
  • Leverage Regional Expertise: Integrate regional knowledge into global solutions, ensuring the platform addresses diverse needs.
  • Provide Technical Oversight: Offer guidance to managers during complex installations or integrations, ensuring successful execution of technical strategies.
  • Strategic and Tactical Decision-Making: Understand both the strategic vision and the tactical needs of software development, knowing when to adjust strategies based on operational realities.

  • Effective Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical and strategic concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Software Development Acumen: Strong understanding of software development processes, with a hands-on knowledge of coding and large-scale software implementation.
  • Technical Oversight: Ability to provide high-level oversight while understanding the intricacies of large-scale system architecture and technology deployment.
  • Global and Strategic Vision: Experience in managing large-scale, global systems, with an understanding of global operational and clearance needs.
  • Problem Solving and Tactical Thinking: Capable of making real-time decisions on technical strategies and project direction, ensuring alignment with both strategic vision and day-to-day operations.


Domicile Information:

The position is a hybrid role, based in Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or business or related field with emphasis in a quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Extensive experience in systems development including design, development, implementation and maintenance of large batch or online transaction based systems. Experience in the majority of the following: mainframe, distributed systems, client server, relational systems, transaction and message systems, embedded systems, imaging and systems management and operation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous management experience, strong leadership, human relations and communication skills required.
