Summary:

We’re seeking a dynamic technical leader to drive innovation and transformation at FedEx. As a key member of the Data & Technology team, you will lead initiatives that not only simplify the ecosystem and drive significant cost reductions, but also contribute to FedEx’s long-term strategic vision. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across all facets of the organization, reimagining technical capabilities that enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and elevate team collaboration. If you’re excited by the opportunity to lead a wide variety of initiatives—from defining architecture and driving value to executing programs and building high-performing teams—this is the challenge you’ve been waiting for.

Position Expectations:

  • Lead the FedEx Technology Simplification strategy by collaborating with Executive Leadership, Enterprise Architecture, and our Accenture team to identify opportunities to simplify the technology ecosystem.
  • Convert simplification opportunities into tangible “value bundles” in partnership with the finance team, and champion each initiative through the demand pipeline.
  • Work closely with technical leads to create actionable plans, prioritize initiatives, and ensure accountability for meeting commitments.
  • Align efforts with the FedEx DRIVE initiative, ensuring that annual cost savings targets for the Data & Technology organization are met.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings across the Data & Technology organization.
  • Build strong relationships across the Data & Technology organization, including leadership, architects, pod leads, and initiative owners, and many others.
  • Establish governance structures and leadership oversight to guarantee that deliverables are met, dependencies are managed, and risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Define core metrics and performance indicators to measure progress and success towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • Represent progress towards expected outcomes to our CDIO, EVPs, SVPs, and VPs.
  • Maintain a bias towards action, focus on execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Create a compelling vision, strategy, and clear direction for the team.
  • Attract, motivate, develop, and retain highly skilled leaders and professionals to lead, drive, and execute.

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Experience leading technical program management teams and orchestration of cross-functional team members to achieve goals.
  • Experience with technical architecture, solutions development, and outcomes based thinking.
  • Experience driving transformation initiatives across large, cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience working in ambiguity and driving teams to clarity.
  • Working in a fast-paced, constantly adapting environment with a bias to action.
  • Strong partnership and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent visual, oral, and written communications skills including developing executive presentations.
  • Flexibility to lead and manage multiple priorities and initiatives at the same time.
