Job Description: Leads Data Engineering teams supporting the needs of FedEx Dataworks platforms on application features, platform stability and scalability and internal BI tooling and requests. Leads efforts to deliver cloud native solutions that help drive internal and external stakeholders striving to make data-driven decisions. Responsible for the identification and delivery of value for highly complex data science and machine learning initiatives. Applies intuitive and professional understanding of industry-relevant Data Science and Machine Learning technology to build cutting edge systems. Researches, identifies, and refines project solutions/architectures to develop and enhance innovative technology.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related quantitative field such as engineering plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years related work experience in data engineering, application development and advanced analytical environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related quantitative field such as engineering plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years related work experience in data engineering, application development and advanced analytical environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Demonstrated knowledge in data science and machine learning frameworks including design, development and implementation of highly complex systems with five (5) years’ experience. Implementation of measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, simulation development and/or predictive analytics. Use of data engineering and machine learning frameworks including design, development and implementation of highly complex systems and data pipelines. System design including application architecture, development and implementation of large batch or online transaction-based systems. Strong understanding of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies. Evaluation and implementation of best practices, tools and processes for web-based application software, APIs, data access and analysis, including large data sets. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements. Position can telecommute from home from any location in the U.S.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
