District Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY
Leads the district staff in communicating corporate plans and driving results through strategic planning regarding productivity, service and cost, serving as a change agent in the field operations to ensure corporate and District objectives align and advance.
Essential Functions
Directly manages all district support staff and is responsible for the hiring, development, performance management and staff productivity.
Acts as a liaison with PGH Engineering to develop operational strategies/objectives, establishes goals and roadmaps for attaining strategic metrics.
Oversees LEAN / Engineering assessments of stations within the district leading to cost reductions.
Develops and manages the department budget; ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns.
Monitors district results including productivity, service, and cost to ensure Corporate and District objectives are in alignment.
Oversees the development and planning in regards to field engineering initiatives such as network optimization and cost reduction.
Works with the Regional Training Specialist to develop or update training as needed to ensure staff training is effective.
Collaborates with the District Quality and Process Specialist to manage the DCRT process.
Leads the CSM process for the District staff.
Ensures the DQC initiatives are advancing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Bachelor’s degree with an analytical focus such as Engineering, Math, Science or Business (Economics, Statistics, Financial Analysis or other analytical focus) is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma/GED with four (4) additional years of experience in field industrial/design/project engineering (including Regional/District Field Engineering Support) or operations management (Ops Manager and above) will be considered equivalent.
Minimum Experience
Seven (7)+ years’ industrial or relevant engineering/district staff/Engineering Specialist experience or Three (3) years Senior Manager experience required. Two (2) of those years working in the Transportation or Logistics industry required.
