INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER - AIR NETWORK DESIGN
The Air Network Planning & Engineering team is responsible for designing and continuously improving a network of flights, operating over 1,000 take-offs weekly to deliver hundreds of thousands of packages across Europe. This includes the setup of integrated cross-functional processes, the enhancement of tools for capacity planning, reporting and network design and the coordination of business cases to optimize the air network.
What you will be doing:
- Analyze, design, develop, and synthesize Air Network planning solutions in conjunction with relevant supporting teams and aligned with executive direction both on short and mid-term.
- Evaluate air network capacity requirements to support volume evolution
- Develop or enhance engineering tools, models and new reports from various databases to analyze flows and air network performance
- Establish and maintain communication with country operations, airport & hub planning, engineering teams and field operations to assess or implement network changes and optimize the current and future air network and flows
- Provide network analytics for (and lead) projects regarding current and future European or intercontinental air network Work with Marketing and Finance peers to reach holistic business recommendations
- Lead and drive corporate wide initiatives that either support revenue, cost reduction, improve profitability, increase service reliability and/or optimize transit time.
- Planning, preparing and implementing short, medium and long term plans which are aligned with stakeholders in Marketing, Finance and Operations.
- Publish weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports including strong executive summary and well-rounded facts highlighting clear pain points and next steps
- Represent the team at multiple internal business forums with Senior Leadership from multiple functions
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members, promoting a positive and productive work environment
- Conduct program evaluations and lessons learned sessions, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in program management practices
- Use data to validate facts and conduct in-depth data validation to structurally identify root cause and propose well aligned effective and sustainable suggestions for solution.
What do you bring with you:
- University degree, preferably in (Business) Engineering
- Experience with planning and optimizing processes (logistics or manufacturing)
- Excellent knowledge of English is a must (working language)
- Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout various functional groups and hierarchical levels
- Proficient use of Office applications: Word, Excel & PowerPoint Data querying and automation through SQL, Python or other programming languages, or eagerness to learn.
