Continuous Improvement Engineer
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing and enhancing current work processes and layouts, recommending automation solutions, documenting best practices, and implementing lean methodologies. This role also supports new business development initiatives and provides subject matter expertise to field operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review logistics operations and document product and information flow using value stream maps, process flow diagrams, and AutoCAD drawings.
- Analyze order volume and storage data to support operational decisions.
- Coordinate productivity improvement projects across industry operations.
- Integrate Quality Driven Management (QDM) requirements and leverage enterprise capabilities.
- Assess strengths and gaps in the functional application of QDM methodologies.
- Develop and recommend process improvements and automation upgrades for existing equipment and workflows.
- Support implementation of approved recommendations and solutions.
- Present analysis and solutions to customers alongside project team members.
- Provide support in data management, reporting, and tool development to automate engineering processes.
- Assist facilities with analytics and financial insights to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support facilities in achieving their annual continuous improvement goals.
- Serve as a CI subject matter expert to field operations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of a degree, high school diploma or GED and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of conveyance, automatic sortation equipment, material handling systems, and product storage solutions is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access and Project.
- Ability to develop and present value-added solutions to internal and external customers.
- Experience in developing productivity metrics and reporting tools.
- Ability to identify, design, and develop engineering tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
