Engineer
Description
Implementing projects aimed at reducing operating expenses, increasing revenues, and improving customer service.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for preparing and monitoring short-term and long-range plans related to expansion procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles, and products within the operations
- Ensure compliance with safety and legal standards, participate in special staff support projects, and prepare management information systems to aid in controlling and developing operational goals
- Assisting in studies to implement innovative engineering concepts into operations, benefiting both FedEx and its customers
- Maintains communication between operations and corporate departments, providing technical expertise on facility requests such as lease terminations, new locations, five-year planning, equipment justification, layout, vehicle planning, and cost justification
- Monitor productivity, service, and cost performance in all areas of operations and assist personnel in implementing necessary changes
- Provide technical training to personnel in workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training sessions in various areas, including operations, manning, management information systems, contingency planning, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and manpower scheduling
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of computer systems.
Analytical & communication skills.
