Enterprise Architect
Description
Lead the long range planning for the structure and interaction of the enterprise's major types/sources of data, information needs, and business processes/strategy.
Essential Functions
About the Role - Part of a central architecture organization for largest portfolio at FedEx supporting all global operations. Architect key initiatives for the enterprise to drive business value.
- Responsible for providing options as part of architecture recommendation.
- Translate business needs into architectural solutions (current and target state) and defining solutions to problems through application of information technology
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards / guidelines for architecture deliverables
- Develop/document the framework for integration/implementation for changes to architectural standards.
- Determine architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs
- Experience with cloud security best practices
- Expertise in common event processing stack like Kafka, Flink etc.
- Provide technical guidance to project team
- Coach the development of Jr. IT architects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Technical Proficiencies
- Advanced experience with Sparx EA Enterprise Architecture tools like LeanIX, Sparx EA, etc.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven, and serverless patterns
- Deep knowledge of Azure cloud platform and its offerings, such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Cosmos DB
- Expertise in common event processing stack like Kafka, Flink etc.
- Experience in common UI/UX frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
- Proficient in programming languages like Java, Golang or Python
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with web service development (REST, GraphQL)
- Understanding of data modeling, database design, and query optimization
- Experience with serverless design and low-code platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and processes
- Experience with cloud security best practices

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
Domicile Information
This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. Business needs may require collaboration during Eastern and Central time zone hours. Candidates who live within commutable distance of a FedEx corporate hub may be required to work a hybrid schedule.

Pay: US Monthly Pay Range: $9,208.38/month - $16,575.08/month
