With very limited supervision, this individual is responsible for: Driving development and execution of product/portfolio strategies and plans, taking into account product life cycle stage and the customer experience. Leading, development and implementation of marketing, sales and all other activities, as needed, to achieve the necessary business outcomes. Independently lead needed market, economic and competitive evaluations that affect product performance. Independently performing fact-based data analysis and interpretation to identify critical business insights. Leading completion of needed advanced data models and analytics. Independently identifying and prioritizing new features, including market analysis, business case development and driving prioritization. Leading/executing large, complex new-product development initiatives and other marketing/enterprise programs across large, cross-functional work teams. Actively coaches and mentors’ others in less senior positions.

Whether you are at the Advisor or Principal level, you will collaborate across business, technology, and operations teams to enhance customer journeys, unlock innovation, and drive measurable business impact.

This role combines customer-centered design, systems thinking, business analysis, and structured decision-making to help FedEx deliver simpler, more human, and more effective experiences.


Principal Experience Architect

Principals lead enterprise-wide experience strategy and transformation efforts that require deep technical expertise, strategic business acumen, and cross-organizational influence. You guide complex initiatives by synthesizing user, technical, and business insights into scalable experience blueprints. Your leadership fosters alignment among senior stakeholders, accelerates delivery through effective facilitation, and drives capability growth across the architect community—all while maintaining a relentless focus on customer value and operational excellence.

  • Lead end-to-end experience strategy for major initiatives from discovery through delivery
  • Align strategically with senior leaders across business, technology, and operations.
  • Facilitate decision-making workshops using journey mapping, root cause analysis, and prioritization frameworks
  • Translate customer, business, and technical insights into future-state blueprints and experience capability roadmaps
  • Coach Advisors and peer architects, fostering skill-building and growth across the EXA team
  • Bridge strategic vision and tactical delivery, ensuring experience goals are integrated into execution plans
  • Leading the development and maintenance of durable architecture by connecting key experience insights to customer vertical workflow strategies and alignment to business marketing teams.


Advisor Experience Architect

Advisors lead focused experience workstreams within larger programs, applying strong technical skills and growing strategic business insight. You translate user, technical, and business inputs into actionable journey maps and service blueprints that guide program delivery. Your collaborative approach fosters alignment among cross-functional teams, supports effective decision-making, and contributes to the continuous development of EXA capabilities—all while maintaining a clear commitment to delivering meaningful customer value and operational effectiveness.


  • Own defined experience workstreams within larger initiatives
  • Develop journey maps, service blueprints, and operational overlays to inform strategy and delivery
  • Facilitate working sessions and support stakeholder alignment across product, technology, and operations
  • Contribute to strategic framing efforts such as capability assessments and maturity models
  • Build expertise in EXA competencies through hands-on experience and mentorship
  • Strengthening durable architecture of customer workflows across industry verticals through close collaboration with the customer experimentation team by drawing insights and requirements from ongoing POCs.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective mentor, coach, and multiplier for other architects
  • Expert in design strategy and systems thinking, capable of producing high-fidelity, scalable experience artifacts that align with brand, business, and platform contexts.
  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills to lead workshops and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to develop strategic frameworks, business cases, and maturity models supporting investment decisions.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and complex tradeoffs across technology, product, and business domains, maintaining focus on outcomes and customer experience.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills that foster team growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in advanced design and collaboration tools (Figma, Lucidchart, Miro, Airtable) to create and share complex visual frameworks.


Additional Qualifications

  • FedEx QDM (quality driven management) certification or equivalent ISO framework

Principal:

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalency in Product Marketing, Economics, Business, or related field.

Minimum Experience

Seven plus (7+) years’ work experience in functions focused on product management, market analysis or research, or equivalent. Superior knowledge of competitive, market and economic factors affecting product performance and ability to perform fact-based data analysis. Expert communication and presentation skills, quantitative, problem structuring & solving skills. Superior executive presence, human relations, networking and influencing skills. Strong project management and project management leadership experience. A directly related master’s degree is equivalent to two (2) years’ experience. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.


Advisor:

Minimum Education

Domicile Information

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.



Preferred Qualifications:  

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S Pay Range for Principal: $120,000 to $180,000 and U.S Pay Range for Advisor: $112,800 to $169,200:
