Description

Supports operational continuity by providing effective facility and equipment hard & soft Services/solutions and planned and reactive maintenance for the site of Novara Road Hub.
Manages vendor performance in accordance with the contractual terms. Involves some guidance on more complex areas or performance issues. Leads defined local initiatives to improve maintenance solutions (synergies, new methods, scheduling etc). Advises and supports all management and less experienced peers.

  • Uses effective methods to build and maintain knowledge of changes and developments in local country maintenance practices, vendors and related legislation. Maintains understanding of the FedEx business (changes, planned growths/ expansions etc) and of current maintenance solutions and their fit with the business needs. Shares information with peers in relevant areas

  • Uses an effective process to log and track all maintenance work requests. Prioritises requests based on defined criteria and initiates work requests with the most appropriate contractor (costs, service, availability etc). Performs checks to ensure that each job is completed in accordance with defined standards. Keeps management informed on the status of progress

  • Coordinate with vendors effective schedules for planned maintenance that ensure the correct prioritisation and scheduling of multiple types of maintenance activities (equipment, heating, janitorial etc). Communicates with suppliers and impacted Management to ensure that timeframes and requirements are understood. Monitors completion and verifies standards are in accordance with the contractual agreement. Ensures work is fully documented and corrective actions and feedback is completed. Escalates serious issues to the manager, included recommended actions

  • Supports management in specifying, tendering and awarding new contracts.

  • Coordinates small projects relating to the installation, replacement, or upgrade of equipment or facilities. Works on larger projects with appropriate guidance. Involves communications with relevant suppliers and management and keeps all parties informed on requirements and progress made. With appropriate guidance, researches, evaluates and advises Properties and Maintenance Management on the cost benefit of alternative maintenance schedules for sort system or facility projects.

  • Builds effective relationships with suppliers and conducts regular meetings to review the service performance and compliance with the contractual terms. Obtains commitment to perform any corrective actions or changes needed. Builds effective alignments with local management (Ops) and work with them to establish and prioritise maintenance solutions. Provides advice on the potential of ideas etc. Seeks advice from the manager as appropriate.

  • Controls supplier costs in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and FedEx policies and procedures. Performs structured checks to ensure that all work is correctly justified, checked, approved before payment. Supports the budgeting process by providing defined types of input on the financial performance of the current years maintenance contracts, together with an overview of changes anticipated in the following year. Leads defined initiatives to identify and implement synergies or cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking, re-evaluation of methods, suppliers etc

  • Provides management with standard and ad-hoc reports, analysis and recommendations relating to ongoing supplier performance, status of facility and equipment, impact to the operation etc.

  • Working in shift he/she will support actively the team on site, giving the maximum effort and cooperation in order to reduce downtime due to potential emergencies or blockers, and in cooperation with other teammembers and vendors keep the service quality high.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Highly engaged and self-motivated individual

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

  • Fluent in English

  • An extensive experience in facilities maintenance and management

  • Good judgement and reasoning ability with experience of evaluating maintenance requirements and determining what is needed and the priority

  • Good understanding of the contractual process with experience of defining and specifying performance expectations and then using them to manage supplier performance

  • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and practices

  • Good knowledge of maintenance requirements relating to material handling systems , facility equipment and building services
