Field Engineering Spec II
Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives. Provide analysis, reporting tools and support for field operations to effectively control and/or justify operational costs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyze data obtained through multiple sources including data mining tools and other statistical analysis tools
Research, analyze and consolidate technical or engineering related information and present for management review
Develop, evaluate, document and improve operations methods to work area design, process flow and work methods
Monitor, analyze and recommend ways to improve productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations in conjunction with management
Collaborate with all levels of field leadership to identify trends in performance
Establish a communication link between operations and corporate departments; provide data and technical expertise relating to facility and equipment planning, layout and cost justification
Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and implement corporate projects
Provide education and support for new technology deployments
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience plus three (3) years’ professional experience in applied engineering concepts and technology
- Knowledge of equipment and properties resource planning
- Experienced with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
- Knowledge of mapping applications
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
WORKING CONDITIONS:
