Job Profile Summary
Oversees and monitors transportation process improvements, system and technology enhancements, administration processes and procedures. Provides training and coaching throughout Field Transportation as well as Station operations to ensure consistent execution of Linehaul/CPC/pickup processes and resolve escalated issues. Conducts strategic analysis, develops process improvement recommendations and serves as a liaison between the Transportation regional and district teams to support an efficient and successful synthesis of Linehaul and CPC functions. Drives network linehaul and pickup performance, and directs changes to improve processes and systems.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Interacts with field operations to reduce empty and partial trailer movements
- Collaborates with Transportation Compliance and Analytics, LH Planning and Linehaul Enginnering to develop and coordinate logistical planning for external customers and works directly with customer to implement and modify
- Provides on-boarding, targeted and ongoing training of Transportation processes, procedures and system tools, as well as customer/service provider interaction methods and techniques, to Linehaul/Customer Pickup Coordinators and Station Operations
- Serves as primary resource for escalated issues, ensuring resolution and improved internal/external customer and service provider experience
- Communicates to key stakeholders and gains support of continuing Transportation program enhancements and process changes to ensure effective implementation and desired outcomes
- Analyzes van and trailer pickup requests and evaluates opportunities for improved pickup activation, increased awareness and accountability regarding sales leads and underperforming accounts.
- Collaborates with Region and District Engineering group to create and maintain the linehaul operations and station Pickup Operating Plan and rationalize the FedEx service offering
- Serves as the quality facilitator for the region/district Linehaul and CPC operations
- Visits linehaul/stations to establish and build professional relationships and address or communicate priorities necessary to improve the customer
- The incumbent(s) of this position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years of professional experience in Linehaul Operations, CPC, Logistics, Transportation Industry, or related area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, terms, and procedures used in field operations
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
- Customer service skills necessary to effectively and professionally respond to requests and issues
- Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences
- Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
- In the province of Quebec must be bilingual (French & English).
