What you will be doing:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in analysing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to drive strategic decisions. You will collaborate with internal departmental stream leads as well as cross-functional teams and contribute to reduction of bad debt, increasing customer experience and operational efficiencies.
Objectives to this role:
- Data Analysis & Insights:
- Deliver actionable insights by analyzing complex datasets within the first 90 days.
- Develop detailed reports and dashboards that effectively communicate key trends and recommendations.
- Efficiency Improvements:
- Identify at least three opportunities for operational or strategic improvements based on data-driven analysis within the first six months.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with business objectives.
- Effectively gather and address feedback to refine analysis processes.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Create and implement systems to track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) within the first three months.
- Provide regular updates on performance metrics and ensure insights are delivered in a timely manner.
- Tool Proficiency:
- Master the organization’s preferred data tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python) and integrate them into workflows within the first 60 days.
- Strategic Contribution:
- Contribute to strategic decision-making processes by presenting data-backed recommendations in team meetings or management reviews.
- Participate in at least one high-impact project that directly influences organizational goals within the first year.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce at least two new techniques or tools that improve the quality or efficiency of data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret complex data from multiple sources.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings.
- Identify patterns, trends, and insights to inform decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analysis.
What do you bring with you:
- Proficiency in Power BI, with expertise in creating interactive dashboards, managing data models, and optimizing performance.
- Creating and managing data visualizations and dashboards tailored to business needs.
- Designing and maintaining robust data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated tables.
- Writing and optimizing DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas for advanced calculations and custom measures.
- Developing ETL processes using Power Query to clean, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Managing large datasets with a focus on performance optimization, including incremental refresh, indexing, and query reduction techniques.
- Implementing row-level security (RLS) to manage data access for different user roles.
- Integrating Power BI with other tools such as SQL databases, Excel, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, SharePoint) for seamless data connectivity.
- Publishing and scheduling reports on Power BI Service and maintaining shared workspaces.
- Staying up to date with new Power BI features, including Paginated Reports, AI visuals, and Power BI Apps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distil complex datasets into actionable insights while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset, fostering strong teamwork across diverse, cross-functional, and cross-cultural environments.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings, with a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
- A natural curiosity for innovation, staying ahead of trends, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance decision-making.
