Finance Manager - CargoWise
Description
As the Manager, Global Finance Lead - CargoWise in the CargoWise One Finance Deployment Team at FedEx Logistics, you will be a part of the Global Finance Systems Team. You will play a pivotal role in the biggest – so far – transformation that FedEx Logistics is undergoing. You will ensure seamless deployment of financial capabilities and optimization of financial process during this transformative project.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the finance teams and support the global deployment teams to successfully deploy CargoWise One (CW1) in all the countries as per schedule by executing implementation strategy that aligns with the global strategy
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the CW1 implementation project, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline management. Own the fit gap process phase for each country ensuring adherence to global standards and that gaps are well documented into business requirements. Conduct UAT prior each go live.
- Collaborate with finance teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the CW1 system and outside - if needed
- Manage change effectively by communicating with all stakeholders, providing training to local and regional finance, and members of Shared Service Centers in Hungary, China, and India to assure a smooth transition to CW1
- Work closely with Finance Integration team (a part of Global Finance Systems Team), IT teams, business analysts, and other departments to ensure CW1 data is integrated with other operational systems and into downstream applications and business requirements for future developments are defined and understood. Create test data and conduct UAT prior to sign off for Production deployment
- Identify potential risks specific to implementation and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions
- Ensure CW1 system meets quality standards and compliance requirements within each country, and that CW1 and other systems are reflective of the global process frameworks
- Support the transition of reporting from SAS and MARS to Spotfire – provide business requirements to Engineering and IT, create test data and conduct UAT prior to sign off for Production deployment
- Collaborate with CW1 Admin Team, IT, Engineering and/or WTG to resolve technical issues, implement and test updates, and ensure ongoing system support. Develop 2nd and 3rd level support
- Finalize and own the global standard process framework for finance and maintain ongoing versions and control.
- Create and maintain ongoing versions and control of DLPs and training materials
- Assure SOX compliance requirements are met and that financial policies are reflective of CW1 global process. Conduct ongoing periodic reviews of both
- Implement and monitor compliance to global standards through structured KPI measures and job management controls
- Develop and foster working relationships with all departments to ensure successful cross-department collaboration
- Lead and coach the global finance deployment team to produce quality process documentation and process analysis and business requirements specifications, system testing and solutioning documentation
- Support other ongoing projects and implementations as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/equivalent in accounting, or business, or related discipline
- At least five (5) years business
- Experience in general accounting such as accounts payable, accounts receivable or general ledger
- Project management skills are a must – must be able to understand project schedules, prioritize accordingly, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Experience with CargoWise as the core freight and brokerage systems is a must
- Experience with CargoWise accounting functions is a must
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- System testing experience
- System training experience
- Freight forwarding experience
- Must have experience with complex business systems and high-volume processing environment
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing regional environments
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, English is a must
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
