Description

Performs a variety of customer service, administrative, and clerical duties requiring direct and indirect customer interface, and provides specialized assistance to customers in the clearance process._x000D_

1. Assists customers with general information regarding dispatching and rates. 2. Assists customers in paperwork completion, making outbound calls, as needed. 3. Checks packages to ensure proper labeling, legality of content including weight and size, proper wrapping, insurance values, special requirements for hazardous material shipments and compliance with Customs documentation required at destination. 4. Ensures all shipments are manifested. 5. Handles customers with packages in cage. 6. Solves and/or coordinates the solution of unique problems presented by customers which require special assistance. 7. Performs tracing services for customers; offers explanations of delays for any packages. 8. Initiates credits/refunds/other compensating or expediting measures in order to minimize the impact of service failure to customers. 9. Compiles records and statistics for use in determining the root cause of customers’ problems. 10. Provides administrative and clerical support to Station Ops Manager. 11. Maintains neat and clean appearance of the workplace, self and uniform.

High School degree/Equivalent. Some college preferred. Two (2) years customer contact experience in a comparable service type environment. Knowledge of international shipping/clearance procedures. Experience in customer problem resolution required. Excellent communication, organizational and human relations skills. Ability to successfully complete the Reading, Listening, Sorting and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test. Ability to lift 70 lbs (32 kgs) and to maneuver any single package weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kgs) with appropriate equipment. Spoken and written fluency in local language and demonstrated fluency in English as determined by results of TOEIC exam. Able to work variable shifts. Knowledge of FedEx systems (COSMOS; KIAC).
