Description

Under limited supervision, designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Provides the necessary documentation. Works with databases, APIs, servers, networks and various programming languages.

Essential Functions 

  • This position will fulfill critical development and development-lead responsibilities for Shipment EFS (SEFS), which is the group of applications that deal with Enterprise Shipment Information. 
  • Primary duty is to develop, test and maintain existing and new solutions supporting shipment information aggregation and distribution for SEFS applications (Example - Single Pickup Order Core, Recurring Pickup Order Core, Scheduled Pickup Order Orchestrator, Dangerous Goods Gateway, Dangerous Goods Orchestrator and more). This includes interfacing with Architects, Product Owners, and Product Managers.
  • Responsible for leading, coordinating, and working together with vendor team members.
  • Responsible for creating solution designs and leading the team to implement those solutions. 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Java/J2EE, Spring Boot framework 
  • Messaging technologies (example - JMS, Kafka, Active MQ, Pulsar) 
  • Enterprise scale event driven architecture 
  • API/Web Services: Restful, JSON, SOAP, WSDL, XML 
  • Microservices, Cloud Native Design, Pivotal Cloud Foundry 
  • Relational Database (example – Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) 
  • NoSQL Database (example – MongoDB, Astra DB, Cassendra DB). DataStax preferred. 
  • API First Development, Test Driven Development 
  • CI/CD integration using industry standard components and pipeline tools 
  • SAFe Agile methodology 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with developers, analysts, and business staff throughout the organization. Ability to express complex technical information in a user-friendly language and style; present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings including executive management. 


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Minimum Experience

Three years of qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.

Domicile Information

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: $8,007.29/month - $12,533.14/month
