Schedule: Monday to Friday from 12:00AM-7:00AM
Position Summary
The Gatekeeper is responsible for controlling and registering all vehicles entering and exiting the yard, ensuring compliance with safety, precision, and productivity standards established by FedEx Supply Chain and its client. This role supports yard security, operational flow, and communication with internal departments while maintaining accurate records and enforcing site protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Register vehicles entering and exiting the yard using paper logs and computer systems.
- Break, affix, and record security seals on incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Visually inspect all vehicles entering and exiting the yard.
- Communicate with distribution center departments regarding vehicle status and directives.
- Inform truck drivers of yard safety rules upon arrival.
- Direct truck drivers to designated areas for parking, pickup, or trailer drop-off.
- Assist other gatehouse services as needed.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures at all times.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience as a gatekeeper preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively with truck drivers and other external personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and procedural compliance.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
- Physical ability to open/close trailer doors and use tools such as crowbars, hammers, and bolt cutters.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and manage stress effectively.

If the incumbent resides in the province of Quebec, Functional French (written and spoken) is required.
