This is an interview position.
To control and coordinate the transportation of packages through the linehaul system by air or ground; ensures that service commitments are met and mitigates the service impacts from factors such as weather, mechanical, operational/regulatory requirements, and volume fluctuations. To effectively coordinate aircraft and truck movements with operations across the country and with outside service vendors on a 24/7/365 basis. To serve as a communications conduit for all linehaul related issues into, out of and across Canada.
To assist and advise associate level specialists and provide oversight and support on all decisions made by them. The global operations specialist may work on reporting, projects, vendor visits and conference calls/meetings from time to time.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent (Aviation or Transportation related preferred)
Completion of a certified Aviation Ground School and/or Flight Dispatcher training required, prior to start
Pilot or Dispatch license preferred
3 years of work experience in the airline or transportation industry
Ability to decipher and understand ICAO weather reports and charts
Strong understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
General understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Parts 91, 121, & 135
Demonstrated understanding of IATA Dangerous Goods regulations
Weight and balance calculation experience an asset
Active participation in the daily planning, operation or operational control of aircraft or trucks, preferred
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook - Basic

Additional Details: Posting down: 05/23/25. Shifts may entail evening / night work as well as weekend. Flexibility is required for scheduling purposes.
