Description
• Plan and control all aspects of all SSL carrier’s service contracts negotiation & procurement.
• Development of SSL strategy with the objective to provide competitive pricing in order to achieve better profitability for the company.
• Enhance the Ocean Carrier relationships to exploit the Ocean Contract opportunities.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Send bids to SSL carriers for point-to-point rates & track all outstanding bid requests.
- Seek out current market rate levels & update market conditions.
- Build relationships with all levels of SSL carrier’s origin offices.
- Maintain current database of SSL carriers’ service contracts, strengths and weaknesses, and overall services performance.
- Monitor and ensure SSL carrier’s honoring their space commitment (MQC), providing adequate space and equipment, and are not rolling
- FTN’s containers.
- Build and maintain relationships at origin ports between booking agents and SSL carriers.
- Control routing.
- Monitor bookings made by origins to ensure proper utilization of rates/space/ equipments.
- Weekly report/update of current market and rate levels.
- Ad hoc reporting
- Additional projects and duties as assigned
JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE
Academic:
- Degree holder
Experience & knowledge:
- Over 10 years in the freight forwarders/carrier’s trade/pricing experience in Asia region, of which minimum 7 years in management position.
- In-depth knowledge of Ocean products
- Strong negotiation skills with global carrier/liners
- Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and local language
