Description

To manage, lead, drive and collaborate effectively with airline partners and internal operational teams, focusing on the implementation of air freight space procurement strategies, charter programs, and airline performance management. This management role is responsible for shaping and strengthening Tri-color air freight strategies, expanding strategic initiatives, and overseeing the identification, development, and implementation of new commercial linehaul lanes, while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

Demand Analysis & Planning:

  • Lead the analysis and forecasting of air freight demand across key trade lanes, ensuring alignment with regional and global network strategies.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with the FXE PNM team to define, validate, and optimize airline space requirements in line with business priorities.
  • Oversee the evaluation of airline schedules and capacity offerings to identify and secure optimal carrier solutions that meet both express and freight forwarding products service requirements.
  • Own the development of medium- and long-term airline space planning strategies by trade lane, ensuring capacity readiness to support network growth and operational resilience.

Airline Space Procurement & Management:

  • Lead the negotiations and execution of Block Space Agreements (BSA) with airline partners, ensuring favorable commercial terms and long-term partnership value.
  • Define and steer pricing strategies, balancing cost efficiency, market competitiveness, and profitability objectives.
  • Establish, implement, and govern performance management frameworks, including KPIs and scorecards, to drive accountability and continuous improvement among airline partners.

Operational Alignment & Execution:

  • Manage and collaborate with Operations teams to ensure effective alignment with airline trade lane implementation, execution, and performance delivery.
  • Oversee governance and compliance of airline BSA processes, including internal approval and contract signing process.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical airline operational matters, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation of service disruptions.

Charter & Capacity Management:

  • Coordinate with Charter team for full and partial charter requirements to support operational needs.
  • Manage, analyze and coordinate peak season capacity requirements and drive additional space procurement initiatives.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE

Academic:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Quantitative Analysis, or a related discipline.

Experience & knowledge:

  • Minimum of five (7) years of experience in air freight, airline operations, space procurement, or finance-related functions.
  • Prior experience in the air freight forwarding or express industry is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Microsoft Access is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with hands-on experience in data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Good command of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
