HKP009: Accountant
Description
To manage full spectrum accounting work including but not limited to month end closing, account receivable, account payable, treasury, audit, budget and guess and analysis etc.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of reports and supporting schedules.
- General Ledger Management: Prepare general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing processes.
- Daily Accounting Operation: Execute day-to-day financial tasks such as processing payments, collaborating with the Shared Services Centre to track non-trade expenses, and managing accounts receivable follow-ups, etc.
- Credit Control Management: Manage account receivable for an assigned portfolio of customers, provide customer service and other business information as needed to support collection of receivables, and monitor account balances and aging, contact customers regarding delinquent invoices, determine and record disputed charges, and research unapplied cash and open credits in accordance with FXL’s collection action policy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local statutory requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley Acts (SOX) requirements and FXL policies.
- Audit Coordination: Facilitate external audit processes by preparing required documentation and providing clear, timely explanations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE
Academic:
- Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or business or equivalent
Experience & knowledge:
- CPA or CPA student member
- At least 3 years’ related experience in accounting/finance in sizable companies
- Audit experience in sizeable audit firm or Big 4 is an advantage
- Experience and knowledge of freight forwarding & logistics industry preferred
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SOX is an advantage
Attribute:
- Proficiency in MS Excel, knowledge of ERP, e.g. Oracle, Hyperion and Cargowise is preferred
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, possess a strong sense of responsibility
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Good command of English, Cantonese & Mandarin
