Implementation Manager

The Implementation Manager is responsible for leading and managing new business implementations from verbal award through go-live and ramp-up. This role serves as the business owner for each implementation, ensuring delivery of business results, technical oversight, and adherence to best practices across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of new business initiatives, maintaining communication to meet customer expectations.
  • Provide technical oversight of product installation environments and ensure system reliability.
  • Advocate continuous improvement methodologies and coordinate project identification with facility operations.
  • Plan, lead, organize, and control multiple project initiatives within approved scope and schedule.
  • Engage Sales, Solutions, and Operations to validate scope against customer contracts, specifications, and analytics.
  • Design scalable engineering structures aligned with company strategy; define team roles and responsibilities.
  • Apply Operational Excellence principles including Labor Management Systems, Workforce Optimization, and Performance Coaching.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable designs and manage change control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement complex business requirements using appropriate tools and technologies.
  • Develop ramp-up plans and schedules; identify risks and create mitigation strategies.
  • Provide daily direction to cross-functional implementation teams and guide customers on deployment best practices.
  • Sign off and test Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in partnership with IT.
  • Ensure smooth transition to operations post go-live and ramp-up.
  • Interact with customer representatives across all operational levels.
  • Collaborate with customer and operations leadership to ensure process adherence during implementation.
  • Work with project managers to identify and address potential issues and risks.
  • Create documentation to support transition from implementation to post-implementation support.
  • Uphold FedEx brand standards in all customer-facing activities.
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend improvements within the Engineering function.
  • Support Quality Driven Management (QDM) techniques and promote data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure team understanding of expectations and reporting standards.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Direct customer-facing and implementation delivery experience required.

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with experience managing teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Analytical and problem-solving aptitude with sound judgment and planning capabilities.
  • Customer service oriented and effective relationship builder.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75% or more across the U.S. and Canada; international travel may be required.

Pay Range

USD $82,476.00 - USD $156,492.00
