Inventory Control Clerk

Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 12am
Pay: $24.74/hr plus shift differential $0.50
Position Summary
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring all paperwork and procedures support this goal. This role verifies incoming and outgoing orders, accounts for defective or damaged products, and ensures appropriate corrective actions are taken. The position upholds product safety, quality, and legality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and update inventory records.
- Create and execute efficient inventory management procedures.
- Perform daily activities to support effective inventory control.
- Reconcile inventories to book records and make necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate annual physical inventory procedures.
- Implement a loss prevention program in collaboration with the Assistant Operations Manager and Corporate Loss Prevention Team.
- Recommend improvements to inventory management programs.
- Plan and implement a recoup program for damaged or defective products (dumping, salvaging, or returning to stock).
- Maintain records for recouped products and return saleable items to inventory.
- Supervise inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reporting.
- Conduct product searches within the system and adjust records for discrepancies.
- Develop and implement procedures to audit returns and relocate returned products appropriately.
- Process documentation for prompt credit transactions when necessary.
- Take appropriate action on unsaleable products.
- Perform weekly cycle counts and update system records accordingly.
- Develop and maintain inventory security protocols; restrict access to authorized personnel only.
- Generate reports and documentation to support accurate inventory counts, audits, and adjustments.
- File invoices and maintain customer records accurately and promptly.
- Communicate with customers regarding physical inventory timing.
- Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives, Supervisors, and Warehouse Supervisors to establish cut-off dates.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of warehouse experience involving standard warehouse practices.
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency with personal computers and related applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service oriented and strong team player.
