Monday - Friday - 1st Shift (Day)

General Summary

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting inventory audits, investigating discrepancies, and supporting daily warehouse operations. This position works closely with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient material flow.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
  • Investigate and resolve overages, concealed overages, shortages, and cycle-count adjustment discrepancies at both the WMS and location levels
  • Report inventory levels and issues to management, identify discrepancy with inventory, and create reports that show available inventory or issues with inventory counts
  • Support inventory counting activities and adjustments and track all inventory issues with resolution in a timely manner
  • Timely completion of inventory investigations
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed for audit and cycle count needs
  • Apply and release system locks on product and physical locations, including prioritized locks, to quarantine product pending investigation -- a core WMS-driven inventory-integrity control
  • Verify inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments
  • Ensure proper product identification and labeling
  • Work with Receiving and Shipping teams to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Maintain organized storage locations and inventory integrity
  • Generate inventory reports and analyze inventory trends
  • Follow company safety policies and warehouse procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • 1--2 years of inventory control, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
  • Forklift operation experience preferred
  • Experience using WMS, ERP, or inventory software
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to solve problems and investigate discrepancies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

 Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation
  • Knowledge of barcode scanning systems
  • Understanding of warehouse best practices
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
