Learning & Development Advisor
Description
The Learning & Development Advisor supports the development of talent across the company. This individual has expertise in design, development, and delivery of learning content, courses, curriculums, and programs. This role will primarily focus on sales new hire and role-based development. Additional topic areas will include professional development of competencies, management development, and other strategic development areas.
The primary job roles include consulting on large scale development initiatives, curriculum and course design, development, course/meeting facilitation, program, and project leadership, and performance coaching.
Job Duties
Design, develop, and facilitate sales development and other strategic areas of import
- Use instructional design methodologies to assess, design, develop, and facilitate development courses and programs including but not limited to, identifying resources, communicating, and promoting programs, and documenting program progress.
- Conduct sales development, professional development, management development, and other strategic topic areas which may include design, development, and facilitating of courses and programs, assessing outcomes, and program management.
- Evaluate and improve the impact of development engagements to enhance solution delivery and results.
- Coach performance to improve in key skill areas.
- Lead internal and external resources to tailor development to meet the business’ needs including facilitating meetings, customizing content, managing vendors, working with team members across FedEx, and coordinating off-site development events.
- Coordinate scheduling courses by working with department leaders, business work groups and team members.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Lead and collaborate on talent development initiatives
- Partner within the team and with business leaders to align development strategies to business priorities.
- Collaborate and provide support on other development and organization effectiveness initiatives, processes, projects, and programs as needed.
- Lead projects with the primary focus of addressing current gaps and anticipated business requirements including process modeling, system migrations, complex and highly sensitive work and various development solutions meant to improve and/or enhance individuals, teams and the organization performance.
Peer mentor with continuous improvement focus
- Promote the exchange of best practices and knowledge sharing and mentoring in formal and informal settings. Proactively identifies and shares best practices/tools with the intent of finding better and best ways to enhance company results. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Is a subject matter expert in their area, is a peer coach, and maintains up-to-date knowledge of skill needs, facilitation and program design best practices, and technologies by reading current journals and books, etc. Applies new methodologies and techniques as appropriate.
Perform other duties as required
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Sales, Behavioral Sciences, or similar required
Experience
5+ years' experience as an instructional designer or corporate instructor including sales and professional development
Experience with Salesforce
Experience coaching performance improvement
The job position requires a continuous improvement and innovative mindset, collaboration, critical thinking, comfort with data, emotional intelligence, ability to navigate ambiguity and use a variety of development concepts, methods, and technologies to make development solutions appropriate for the audience.
Other skills:
- Knowledgeable in Articulate and/or similar system
- 2-5 years’ experience in assessments such as DiSC, 360-degree feedback
- 3-5 years’ experience with Microsoft suite, Adobe, Zoom
- 3-5 years’ experience and expertise in sales process
- 1-2 years’ experience with Salesforce
- 3-5 years’ experience coaching performance improvement
- 0-2 years’ experience with Workday Learning or other LMS
