Description
Responsible for the completion of specific operational activities at station or hub locations which may include sort activities, driving and location-based tracking and reporting.
General Job Description:
Under general supervision performs the following activities:
• Responsible for the completion of specific operational activities at station or hub locations which may include sort activities, driving and location-based tracking and reporting.
• Safely performs operational duties including loading and unloading, and driving duties equipment, in line with standard company procedures and legal requirements.
• Move cargo and pallets with a forklift, electric pallet jack or Taylor-Dunn vehicle inside a warehouse, station, or HUB.
• Organize the cargo, according to characteristics for transportation and storage.
• Perform verticalization of unused cargo racks.
• Perform special loading and unloading (heavy loads operated by forklifts).
• Perform first-level maintenance (cleaning and conservation) of the work tool (forklift).
• Work following safety, hygiene, quality and environmental protection standards.
• Successfully comply with the training and internal certification of the specific type of equipment to operate.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned include but not limited to loading/unloading truck and sort activities.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
• High School degree/Equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
• Two (2) years’ experience as forklift operator.
• Excellent driving record - no preventive accident in the past 12 months.
Minimum Required Skills:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver items of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Ability to safely/effectively operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker, reach truck, electric Pallet jack, Taylor-Dunn vehicle and other types of warehouses and disposal equipment and current required certifications related to assigned equipment type(s).
• Ability to properly handle and process different shipment types based upon contents and labeling.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to work variable shifts and weekends/holidays (Including night shift).
