LM307: Station Coordinator
Description
Involves supervising and performing complex level of processing, coordinating, and obtaining customs clearance approval for import/export and transshipments of documents, packages, and merchandise in baggage or air freight.
General job description
• Responsible for preparation of necessary customs forms to enable import, export, and transshipments procedures to take place in a time, efficient, and effective manner for consignments arriving/departing NA. Ex: mater airway bills, cargo manifests and general declarations, invoices and other related paperwork.
• Interfaces with middle and high level customs officials, government agencies and customer, and other FedEx departments in customs-related matters.
• Remains updated on new customs laws, rules, regulations, and practices and ensures station’s immediate compliance.
• Responsible for on-going efforts to streamline customs clearance procedure and processes.
• Ensures station’s full compliance with country customs clearance procedures and processes.
• Prepares forms detailing customs duties, tariffs, taxes, and fees to enable timely recovery of costs.
• Prepares international manifests to ensure responsive and efficient customs clearance are possible.
• Responsible to maintain all customs documentation well organized and properly filed.
• Performs sorting, baggage support at airport and station, and retrieves air freight from carriers as required.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
• High School degree/Equivalent.
• Basic English Skills.
Minimum Experience:
• Five (5) years in international freight/cargo customs policies, procedures, rules, and laws.
• Customs Certification and/or License.
• Driver's license required.
Minimum Required Skills:
• Knowledge of airport and customs clearance procedures preferred.
• Able to coordinate multiple activities at a time.
