LM402: Sr Accountant

Description

"Involves performing a variety of accounting duties at intermediate level, applying principles of Accounting. As the position moves toward Senior level, incumbents will increasingly:
• Work on activities with higher impact and/or complexity,
• Have a broader geographical scope from regional, to divisional and corporate level,
• Have more regular contact with senior or executive management,
• Complete tasks independently, without guidance,
• Support or coordinate peers within department or deliver training to internal
customers,
• Initiate and lead projects, including cross functional projects"

General job description:
• Ensures compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
• Ensures proper administration of local statutory reporting, tax accounting requirements, and the filing of tax returns on a timely basis.
• Administers relationships with tax authorities, payroll service bureau, auditors, and other related agencies.
• Ensures that internal control of accounting systems is in place and maintained in order to safeguard the company assets and avoid liabilities.
• Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations of moderate complexity.
• Prepares cash receipts, disbursement journals, and accruals monthly.
• Prepares monthly cash flow forecasts and ensures that sufficient funds are always available to meet the company's liabilities.
• Maintains Miami Accounting and Country Manager updated on accounting related activities by submitting required reports and keeping them informed on issues and changes in related laws and regulations.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Fluent in English.
                                                      
Minimum Experience:
• Four (4) years accounting experience.
• Local professional certification if required.
• Two (2) years' experience as an Accountant.

Minimum Required Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Computer literate.
• Spreadsheet experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communications skills (written/oral).
