Supervisor, Logistics Sourcing
This job is responsible for carrier contract administration, TMS rate entry, TMS rate auditing, route guide and transit data analysis, carrier bid support, carrier procurement support, claims administration, carrier connectivity, and carrier onboarding services carrier contract administration. This role ensures that transportation services are provided to multiple customers and consulting projects in accordance with their needs.
Primary Responsibilities
• Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, labor planning and forecasting, staff productivity and performance management to include disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
• Develop, implement and manage effective processes, tools and systems to support contract administration, rate entry, auditing, route guides and transit.
• Ensures team members perform their duties according to goal plans, provide coaching and counseling. Actively participate in leadership development activities, including hiring, succession planning and individual development planning.
• Identify potential issues and developing action plans to mitigate risks to the business unit.
• Ensures new regulation and industry trends are researched, communicated and complied with.
• Prepares and/or provide input into commercial content related to carrier services.
• Directs customer interface on new business opportunities when applicable.
• Prepares and provide necessary metrics and reporting to support business needs.
• Lead carrier rate and contract negotiating efforts, provide bid management, develop capacity plans, and source carriers as needed.
• Accountable for work instruction creation, Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) development, and responsible for SOP compliance
• Adhere to all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• 2 years of experience in transportation and logistics with demonstrated expertise in transportation contract and pricing analysis, cargo claims management, and transportation data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
• Proficiency in TMS platforms, Excel, and relational databases
• Employee supervisory or management experience
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex transportation data, identify trends and operational risks, ensure contractual and service compliance, and support informed business decision-making.
