Manager Air Traffic & Airspace Assessment
Description
Manages the function that plans, enacts, & communicates air traffic flow management decisions. Participate and input into airspace & procedure design activities worldwide to promote safe and expeditious flow of air traffic using area navigation (RNAV) & required navigation performance (RNP) capabilities of FedEx aircraft.
Essential Functions
- Participates in the FedEx fleet planning activities regarding NextGen equipage and procedures.
- Represents FedEx's interests in flight operations industry activities.
- Manages flights database functions and route assignments relative to FedEx flight operations worldwide.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree/equivalent.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years' experience in air traffic control flow management dealing with FAA or Eurocontrol traffic management initiatives. FAA management experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of airspace and procedure design processes. Ability to interpret aviation weather reports and charts. Operational knowledge and familiarity with FAA, ATCSCC or Eurocontrol CFMU computer systems including Flight Schedule Monitor (FSM), Traffic Mgmt. Advisor (TMA) and Traffic Situation Display (TSD). Strong understanding of Nexgen capabilities and Equipage requirements. Strong organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Conditions
Must be able to work variable shifts covering a 24 Hour, 7 Day per week operations.
Non-covered safety sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
