Description
Responsible for managing all activities and resources required to source and retain quality capacity for FedEx Custom Critical (FXCC) via Independent Service Providers (ISPs), and qualified outside carriers. Establish department goals to meet sourcing, qualification, retention, and forecast needs. Design and implement market sourcing standards, guidelines, and strategies to meet specific segment requirements and improve FedEx Custom Critical’s competitive position in the expedited industry. Develop and implement process improvements, key performance metrics (KPIs), and scorecards. Manage carrier network to service standards via carrier scorecard.

Job Duties
- Provide leadership, team management, performance management, and develop the team to ensure KPIs are met while establishing new KPIs as dictated by the business
- Assist team in identifying, procuring, and qualifying capacity providers (asset & non-asset) while building business relationships. Promote FedEx Custom Critical as a carrier of choice via FXCC brand platform
- Partner with FXCC operational leadership to identify asset capacity needs and deploy plans to source accordingly. Accountable for appropriate QOC capacity for Freight Solutions freight brokerage, Surface Expedite, White Glove, and Temperature Control Network.
- Establish appropriate business standards and processes. Develop and analyze metrics to assess profitability, performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee carrier performance. Communicate effectively with service providers to ensure customer expectations and contractual requirements, are attained.
- Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence. Build strategies and action plans to transform both carrier networks (asset & QOC)
- Evaluate contractor compensation programs for fit and innovate process improvements. Negotiate competitive rates and contracts to maximize profits and service.
- Ensure service providers meet Department of Transportation and safety guidelines when operating under FXCC operating authority. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
- Manage spending against annual budget for the Capacity Sourcing department
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities, assess feasibility and impact, and deploy solutions that drive cost reductions, internal efficiency and service improvement for on-time performance, lane load average, utilization, and capacity.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, operations, transportation, finance, supply chain, sales, marketing, or similar required.
Experience
- 5-7 years transportation, operations, finance, supply chain, sales, marketing, or similar experience required.
- 3-5 years leadership experience required.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: $90,820.00- $116,575.00 based on experience.
