Job Description Summary:

  • Manages and leads a team of finance professionals providing effective implementation of policy, practices, procedures and systems In the areas of financial planning, budgeting, strategic project analysis, reporting and cost management.


Job Specific Information:

  • This position will lead the FedEx Freight costing team. In this role, you will be leading a team of finance and technical professionals in order to produce profitability data and analytics in support of commercial and operational use cases.


Essential Functions:

  • Select, educate, develop, motivate and lead a team of employees; Support and review efforts to ensure safety performance of people and improve overall morale. Develop and manage department budget.
  • Provides financial analyses, studies, and counsel on all matters of potentially significant financial impact to the organization and develops budgets.
  • Forecasts and metrics as appropriate supports corporate initiatives/objectives using current technologies available, develops professionals while creating an effective organization in support of company strategic priorities.
  • Ensures financial integrity with regard to manpower usage and cost, asset management and program controls.
  • Provide financial support for the expansion of the division and related programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/equivalent, in business, finance or related discipline.


Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years experience in financial analysis, financial planning, business consulting, project management, accounting audit or operational analysis.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of advanced spreadsheet applications and computer modeling. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership experience is preferred, though not required. Experience in process to business outcomes, financial modeling, cross functional collaboration, and data analytics will be helpful. It is critical to have at least a working understanding of the LTL (less-than-truckload) freight industry. Prior experience in the following domains is a plus: LTL pricing analysis or revenue management, financial planning & analysis, business case development, ETL functions, SAS, Ab Initio. Advanced education in business or quantitative discipline is preferred.


Work/Domicile Location:

  • This position will be hybrid in Memphis, Tennessee or Harrison, Arkansas and candidates must live within a 50 mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
