Summary:
The Manager, Global Capabilities Services Portfolio & Transitions supports the execution of the Global Capabilities Services (GCS) strategy by managing demand intake, coordinating cross‑functional transformation initiatives, and leading the transition of work into and out of Global Capability Center (GCC) locations.
This role partners closely with functional leaders, Transformation Strategy, Finance, Technology, and GCC site teams to ensure initiatives are prioritized, sequenced, and executed effectively. Acting as a key integrator across Functions, Sending Sites, and Receiving Sites, the Manager ensures readiness across process, technology, site, and people dimensions; supports governance and reporting; and drives timely delivery, value realization, and adoption through disciplined execution and change management.
Essential Functions
- Manage the enterprise demand intake and assessment process for Global Capabilities initiatives, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities, capacity, and value objectives.
- Act as a thought leader and strategic consultant to challenge conventional thinking, identify innovative opportunities and drive organizational progress.
- Support demand prioritization decisions by preparing analysis on scope, effort, risk, cost, and expected benefits.
- Track and manage the integrated portfolio roadmap, identifying interdependencies and potential conflicts across initiatives.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across Functions, Technology, Finance, Transformation Strategy, and GCC site leadership to drive execution of approved initiatives.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely issue resolution.
- Escalate risks, tradeoffs, and decision points with clear recommendations.
- Lead and coordinate transitions of work into and out of GCC locations, ensuring readiness across process, technology, site, and people dimensions.
- Develop and manage transition plans and timelines, overseeing execution activities including:
- Process documentation and SOP development
- Knowledge transfer and training
- Cutover planning and execution
- Hypercare and stabilization support
- Apply standard transition methodologies, readiness assessments, and stage‑gate controls.
- Support governance forums by preparing status updates, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Maintain reporting on progress, risks, financials, and benefit realization. Compile updates, analyze data, and develop insight to maintain continuous visibility into program progress and outcomes.
- Monitor delivery against timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes, driving corrective actions as needed.
- Execute change management activities to support stakeholder adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and issues; coordinate mitigation plans and track resolution.
- Promote continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices across transitions.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, service providers, and third parties as required to support portfolio and transition activities.
- Build strong working relationships and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of Global Capabilities Services objectives.
- Up to 25% travel, based on business needs.
- Must be willing to work with teams in multiple time zones.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Strategy, Operations Management, or a related field required
- Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Strategy/Transformation, or related) preferred
Minimum Experience
- 5 years of experience in strategy, transformation, shared services, portfolio management, or related disciplines. Two (2) years of experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-functional teams.
- Experience in a large, global, or matrixed organization preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading cross‑functional initiatives and transitions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience supporting enterprise or multi‑function transformation initiatives and governance models
- Strong understanding of demand intake, portfolio coordination, and value tracking
- Solid transition management capabilities, including standard methodologies and readiness assessments
- Project Management certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead people and manage executive-level programs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Effective written and verbal communication, including executive‑ready updates and storytelling
- Risk and issue management skills with a structured, proactive approach
- Financial and business acumen, including business case support and benefits tracking
- Proficiency with portfolio and project tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Clarity), dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio)
Domicile Information:
The preferred locations for this hybrid position are Plano, TX OR Memphis, TN. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.

If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
