To manage the design and development activities for a group. Responsibility includes systems and application analysis, programming, feasibility studies, etc.

Lead long range planning for the structure/interaction between the business strategy, organization, and business, application, data and technical architectures. 

Essential Functions

  • Manage the capacity for data center whitespace, servers, storage, and data services to ensure optimal performance and resource allocation. 
  • Oversee the capacity planning of private cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets performance and scalability requirements. 
  • Develop algorithms and processes to maximize the efficient utilization of data center infrastructure. 
  • Work closely with the Technical Architecture team to ensure infrastructure standards align with overall capacity needs and strategic goals. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, operations, and finance, to align capacity planning with business objectives. 
  • Use data science and analytics to enhance capacity planning processes and derive actionable insights. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive infrastructure capacity strategies to support business requirements. 
  • Monitor and analyze current infrastructure usage and trends to forecast future capacity needs. 
  • Manage and optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient utilization of infrastructure assets. 
  • Lead capacity planning initiatives for new projects, ensuring that infrastructure requirements are met. 
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews of infrastructure capacity, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Prepare and present reports on capacity planning metrics and performance to senior management using Power BI and other relevant tools. 
  • Develop business cases and obtain funding for infrastructure projects. 
  • Provide oversight of contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable usage of infrastructure. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the infrastructure capacity planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in infrastructure and integrate relevant insights into planning processes. 

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or directly related quantitative degree or related field.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years systems development experience which includes programming. Skill in one or more programming languages. If position is in mainframe environment, complex systems experience on IBM operating systems or microprocessors required. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. IMS experience. If position is in client/server environment, systems development experience to include distributed systems is required. Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development or case tools. Experience in the technical design and development of major client/server projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience managing data center infrastructure is preferred. 
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies is a plus. 
  • Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting. 
  • Proficient in data analysis and capacity planning tools 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. 
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 

Domicile Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business needs. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $9,208.38/month - $16,575.08/month
