MANAGER IT
Description
This position is responsible for the management, technical administration, services, and support of assigned area, including data protection/data security functions.
Knowledge of Cloud platforms, BI Analytics Tools, managing cross functional teams, experience in managing data management teams, extensive knowledge and skill with database products, technologies, relational design, modeling, Management experience in design, planning, implementation, backup/recovery, performance tuning and support of databases in the applicable systems (Unix and Linux environments) is considered a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
Selects, trains, and develops a staff of 4 to 20 employees while promoting the people-service-profit philosophy.
Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to hiring, coaching, skill development, recognitions and rewards, staff productivity and performance management to include disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
Build strong data analytics team through hiring, mentoring and leading talented resources.
Takes ownership and responsibility over major data engineering and business intelligence initiatives.
Manages team to lead modeling and development to support operations initiatives, strategic programs, and new products/solutions, through the use of advanced descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and ensemble modeling, advanced statistical techniques, and complex mathematical modeling/tool development.
Leverages proficiency in BI Analytics, CI/CD processes and data engineering practices to ensure sustainable model development and provide recommendations on highly complex problems.
Provide leadership and initiative in a team environment.
Directs, coordinates, and manages the installation and maintenance of information technology solutions within budgetary constraints.
Directs the design, acquisition, and implementation of information technology solutions to coincide with designs and procedures set forth by the IT department and business areas.
Directs support for the Cloud infrastructure, which consists of data protection, data connectivity, and interoperability among the IT systems.
Provides expedient problem resolution and application use guidance for internal and external customers. Ensures that problem resolution meets service level agreement guidelines.
Directs and maintains effective processes to protect against undesirable access to systems and at the same time to ensure the integrity of the company's information, products, and services by enforcing policies and standards Adheres to FedEx and SOX regulations.
Proactively interacts with I/S departments to have an awareness of system and application changes and to be prepared for calls as a result of these changes.
Prepares supporting schedules and tactical action plans for senior management by researching, evaluating, and developing solutions to meet the goals of the company.
Mentors team members to drive results.
Advise in the application of modern architectures, principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes to support the launch of new business capabilities.
Lead the resolution of complex problems. Escalate issues to Managing Director level as required.
Communicate effectively, manage conflict amongst team members, and remove impediments.
Provides guidance to less experienced personnel.
Possesses an advanced understanding of the organization’s products and services.
Subject matter expert in a variety of field's concepts, practices and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish tasks.
Works under minimal supervision.
Performs complex tasks/multi-tasks.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems and/or equivalent training in related field preferred and 8 years of relevant experience.
In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 10 years of relevant experience.
Two (2) years of management experience desired.
Understanding of Azure, GCP, AWS, Ab Initio, Informatica will be added advantage.
Exposure to database structures/ data warehousing principles, and experience in SQL across different platforms including structured and unstructured data from various enterprise sources.
Working knowledge of BI analytics tools including Tibco Spotfire, Tibco Data Virtualization, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate will be plus.
Demonstrates management, interpersonal, leadership, project management and organizational skills.
Strong written/oral communications and professional presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas.
Ability to effectively solve the problem with significant interaction from other groups.
Responsible for relationship with vendors and coordinating issues with vendors.
Customer service driven and strong team player.
Willingness to work with required time overlap with distributed teams for important meetings, discussions, and reaching out to key stakeholders.
Able to work under pressure, demanding situations, producing high quality deliverables while meeting delivery dates.
Must be a motivated, forward-thinking individual who is able to work with minimal supervision.
Exercises good judgment and understanding of dependencies across multiple projects.
