We currently have an opportunity for a Manager Legal Counsel in the area of labor law in the CEU Legal Department.

 

The position will supervise a small team of legal counsels at different levels, working on individual and collective labor law matters. The geographic scope is Germany and Austria.

 

The key responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Leading, supporting, motivating and inspiring the team in order to provide outstanding legal support to the business.

  • Managing, efficiently, the day-to-day legal assistance within scope.

  • Close collaboration and alignment with the HR department in strategic and day-to-day labor relations-related matters

  • Properly allocating tasks within the team to guarantee continuous legal support to the business, prioritizing strategic matters.

  • Ensuring that the company service levels are achieved at all times. Act quickly and positively to address and resolve customer problems.

  • Ensuring risk is effectively managed through compliance with all company policies including Health & Safety as well as operating in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Taking immediate and appropriate action when required.

  • Due to the size of the team, the manager is expected to also provide direct legal advice and support in complex matters and projects

  • Optimizing and controlling costs, making an efficient use of external legal resources.

  • Recognizing and rewarding individuals for exceptional performance.

 

We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated and impactful with a pragmatic, target driven approach. Flexibility is key for this role as well as the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously in a quickly changing complex environment.

 

Candidates should have good communication skills and be able to instill trust and confidence.

Holding a law degree and in depth knowledge of German labor law as well as being fluent in German and English are mandatory requirements.
