We are looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team at FedEx’s state of the art facility in Netley, Adelaide. This is more than a management role – it is an opportunity to reimagine our operations and make a lasting impact.

About the role

As our Operations Manager, you will oversee a diverse team of 160 employees, supported by 5 supervisors, across our morning and afternoon shifts. You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Adelaide facility’s operations, ensuring service excellence and driving continuous improvement.

This is a multifaceted leadership role that spans:

  • Team leadership & development
  • Operational strategy & planning
  • Safety & compliance
  • Process optimisation
  • Financial & asset management
  • Customer service excellence

You will play a pivotal role in guiding and coaching your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, and high performance. Your ability to build genuine and meaningful connections with your team, peers, and customers will be key to driving successful outcomes and shaping the future of our operations.

The successful applicant will have / be:

We are seeking a seasoned leader with:

  • Proven experience in transport/logistics operations (ideally with a Tier 1 provider)
  • A commercial mindset and data-driven decision-making skills
  • The ability to translate strategy into action and theory into practice
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance standards
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, implementation, and change management
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight
  • High-level computer literacy and reporting capabilities
  • Qualifications in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • A track record of success in high-volume express freight operations
