Description

To perform an advanced level of administrative functions generally supporting certain management positions. In some departments, operations responsibilities may be required in addition to administrative functions.

Performs administrative functions, which require knowledge of general business and office procedures including maintaining follow-up files, assembling materials for department specific reports and composing correspondence. Schedules appointments and maintains manager's calendar. Coordinates arrangements for events/meetings that may include, but not limited to staff meetings, conferences, training sessions, local community events, fund raising events and business travel. Composes, and distributes meeting notification, agenda, and notes/minutes. Prepares materials related to presentations, reports, and support documentation for events/meetings. Tracks attendance of business unit or department employees and maintains personnel data such as vacation, absences, overtime, etc. Receives, date stamps, and distributes department mail. Receives, screens, and routes telephone calls. Reviews various department specific reports for accuracy and advises management of discrepancies. Compiles information that is not readily available through various management reports. (I.E. Internet research, etc.). Completes special projects/assignments as directed. Tracks and monitors projects (from request state to completion) through distribution of final documents. Utilizes a personal computer as necessary to assist management and staff in developing various documents, reports, spreadsheets and presentations. Maintains adequate levels of office supplies. May process, coordinate and follow up on invoices received for payment. May prepare, review, and submit employee expense reports for processing. Composes memos/correspondence on behalf of management, and answers routine correspondence. May research complaints using company systems and prepare detailed reports on actions to date. May reply to customers directly via phone or email. Performs other duties as assigned.


High school diploma/GED. Three (3) years direct related business experience in a staff or operations position which includes three (3) years as a secretary/administrative assistant. Other related FedEx experience preferred. PC experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office software required. Must be able to use a computer keyboard effectively. Experience in operating various types of office equipment (fax, copier). Ability to prioritize mail, telephone calls and compose correspondence for management's review and/or action. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Good organizational, telephone and human relations skills


Preferred Qualifications: Location: This position is an In-Office role reporting to our facility on Airways Blvd in Memphis, TN. Shift Information: 1st shift Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Pay: Base Pay Range 15.38 - 29.19 USD Hourly
