Plan, organize, direct and control all efforts relative to the design, definition, development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, applications, projects and programs.

In support of the global FedEx corporate strategy, this role provides leadership for defining Network Engineering architecture, topologies, design, and global standards.

In addition, responsibilities include integration of cloud network services globally - within & across multiple cloud service providers, global management of Network Advanced Services including DDI (Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, IP Address Management), with additional responsibilities for global Load Balancing platform, Voice Engineering and Network Operations Center. Position is accountable to align IT Network platform strategy with business growth objectives, digital transformation initiatives, workforce transformation, retooling / analytics, modernization, and integration of AI.

Essential Functions

  • Lead teams responsible for IT design and maintenance.
  • Provide strategic direction for systems and application enhancements.
  • Lead design projects and provide information to executives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous management experience, strong leadership, human relations, and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of complex LAN/WAN environments, software-defined networking (SD-WAN), and multi-cloud connectivity, and architectural experience with cloud platforms
  • Advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), load balancing/DNS architectures, and some experience with Cyber Security environment including but not limited to zero trust, firewall, & segmentation strategies.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership for the Global Network Engineering organization.
  • Define and execute the global network engineering strategy aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • The position is responsible for leading the Network Strategy and Reference Architecture (NSRA) team.
  • Ability to align network infrastructure with long-term business goals, scalability demands, and established cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Establish executive-level partnerships with business partners, vendors, and platform & security teams.
  • Lead demand management and planning aligned to enterprise value creation.
  • Set clear objectives and DRIVE execution of Planview and Big Rocks (network roadmap/plan) initiatives.
  • Oversee evolution of the Global Network Engineering portfolio ensuring capacity, performance, resiliency and scalability.
  • Manage financial performance, cost optimization, and investment prioritization.
  • Promote innovation through Software-Defined Networking (SDN)and AI.
  • Act as global escalation point for Network Engineering matters.
  • Foster a high-performance culture and develop global talent pipeline.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, math or business or related field with emphasis in a quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Extensive experience in systems development including design, development, implementation and maintenance of large batch or online transaction based systems. Experience in the majority of the following: mainframe, distributed systems, client server, relational systems, transaction and message systems, embedded systems, imaging and systems management and operation.
