POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides strategic leadership for the design and performance of secure, reliable network infrastructure that enables day-to-day operations, remote collaboration and field mobility across the organization
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate a team of high performing IT leadership and professionals capability growth and delivery excellence
2. Define and govern the enterprise network architecture, ensuring scalable, resilient and secure connectivity for all technology environments
3. Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of routing, switching, firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WANs) and wireless networks
4. Oversee network performance, availability and incident response, driving continuous optimization through proactive monitoring and analysis
5. Establish and enforce network standards, documentation and operational procedures in alignment with cybersecurity requirements
6. Collaborate with peers in infrastructure, security, and field support to deliver reliable connectivity for key operational sites such as freight terminals, warehouses, yards, and remote locations
7. Manage third-party network service providers and vendors to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and project goals
8. Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
9. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards.
10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• Ten (10 years of experience in network infrastructure, operations or related roles
• Proven expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WANs) and wireless networking
• Experience managing edge technologies such as Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), Hands-Up/Hands-Free Units (HUM) and intelligent edge solutions
• Strong knowledge of network monitoring, incident response, vendor management, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
• Familiarity with operationally intensive or freight and supply chain environments is desirable
• Strategic leadership to drive network modernization and business alignment
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills to manage vendors, engineering teams, and stakeholders across the enterprise
