Meteorologist
Description
Provides global aviation and U.S. surface movement forecasts for weather decision support to flight operations and global operations control to mitigate weather impacts to the line haul system.
Essential Functions
- Provides global aviation and U.S. surface movement forecasts, preparing and issuing terminal and en-route weather forecasts.
- Develops and issues truck weather route and area forecasts.
- Provides written and/or oral weather briefings to control center personnel, flight crew members, and other company personnel.
- Coordinates with global operations control ATC personnel to provide weather briefings to flight operations and other company personnel. .
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in meteorology or atmospheric/earth science.
Minimum Experience
Three (3) years related experience in a combination of synoptic, mesoscale, surface and upper air aviation weather forecasting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of weather data processing systems. Strong decision-making and communication skills.
Job Conditions
Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay Transparency: U.S. Pay Range: $5152.82/month - $6698.67/month This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors
