Mgr-Fuel Procurement Strategy

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Manage the fuel procurement and distribution process through a network of suppliers and vendors to support Freight operations and service, ensuring related policy and procedure controls and compliance. This role blends stewardship with operational efficiency, focusing on sustainable fuel alternatives, carbon footprint reduction, fuel procurement strategies, and reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Select, lead, educate, develop and motivate a staff of employees
2. Manage the general management of fuel procurement, distribution and cost containment to fuel, all fuel islands and maintenance
3. Manage the administration of fleet fuel card program and management of the Ops fuel plan and fueling activities
4. Lead the general management of renewable energy, energy efficiency, alternative fuel, alternative forms of transportation, waste reduction, recycling, and employee engagement regarding sustainability programs
5. Develop, implement and maintain standard procedures and programs to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and consistency of the team
6. Collaborate with business stakeholders to execute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals and strategy
7. Manages the fuel procurement and distribution process through a network of suppliers and vendors to support Freight operations and service by ensuring related policy and procedure controls are compliant
8. Develops and manages the department budget. Ensure compliance and address variances and other budget concerns
9. Adopts and implements renewable fuels to support sustainability strategic objectives
10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
11. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required.
· Five (5) years of experience required in operations management in fuel, distribution/logistics, network planning, sustainability project management, Engineering or related area with at least two (2) years in a management and/or leadership role.
· Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
· Verbal and written communication and presentation skills are necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
· Presentation skills are necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
· Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve goals.
· Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
· Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to fuel industry and its infrastructure.
· Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
