Description
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the development and implementation of tax policies to ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Identify and resolve tax issues, stay informed on legislative changes, and provide strategic guidance to leadership. Lead a team of professionals, manages departmental budgets, and oversees tax audits and compliance processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, and direct the development and implementation of tax strategies and policies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop proactive solutions to potential tax issues and areas of exposure.
- Select, educate, develop, motivate, and lead a team of tax professionals.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, Collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support efforts to enhance employee engagement, morale and performance.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Identify compliance risks and adapt processes to address emerging challenges and mitigate risk.
- Develop and manage the department’s annual budget. Ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.
- Create/review detailed documentation/calculations supporting tax impact of legislative changes. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or licensed attorney preferred.
- Five (5) years directly related tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax department.
- Knowledge U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws, including transfer pricing, tax provision (ASC 740), and global compliance frameworks.

- Ability to review complex deliverables for accuracy and completeness in alignment with internal controls.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills—capable of translating complex tax matters for leadership and non-tax stakeholders.
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize and oversee multiple workstreams.

- Experience leading automation, process improvement, and technology adoption initiatives within a tax or finance environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and transparency in tax reporting.
