Operations Agent

Description

1. Purpose of the Position:

The primary responsibility of the Operations Agent is to coordinate and manage the end-to-end transportation of shipments under their control, ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met. The role involves close collaboration with internal departments, external vendors, and customers to provide efficient, compliant, and timely logistics solutions.

2. Requirements / Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, preferably in an operational role.

• Solid understanding of forwarding business processes

• Basic knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements.

• Familiarity with operational systems and freight forwarding platforms.

• Professional verbal and written communication skills

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and the local language.

3. Responsibilities:

• Book shipments with carriers and Gateway according to internal product-specific guidelines.

• Manage and distribute all required transportation documents efficiently and compliantly.

• Arrange pickup and delivery with carriers and third-party providers.

• Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled; take corrective action in case of deviations.

• Complete and update shipment records and documentation in a timely and accurate manner, following internal procedures and legal regulations.

• Escalate complex issues

• Maintain effective relationships with vendors and support performance improvement initiatives.

• Identify vendor performance issues

• Monitor shipments via internal dashboards

• Contribute to cost optimization efforts and ensure accurate accruals.

• Handle invoice disputes professionally

• Support business performance goals and deliver an excellent customer experience through daily operations.
