Position Summary
Shift: 2-week rotation -- Monday-Friday, 10:45AM-6:45PM and Monday-Thursday, 6:45PM-4:45AM
Location: Brantford, ON
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe and effective execution of daily operational plans and strategies. This role leads and allocates resources, ensures compliance with key processes, and drives performance across safety, quality, efficiency, and financial KPIs. The Operations Supervisor fosters a productive team environment while ensuring product safety, quality, and legality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise at least two full-time direct reports, including coaching, skills development, performance management, and disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production activities within warehouse operations.
- Prepare and distribute reports necessary for day-to-day operations.
- Ensure proper implementation of schedules and effective job assignments.
- Manage vacation and time-off scheduling to minimize operational disruption.
- Actively lead and supervise teammates on the floor to ensure workflow and safety compliance.
- Conduct daily startup meetings to communicate work instructions, safety practices, and operational updates.
- Provide consistent and fair feedback to drive teammate performance and excellence.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and participate in safety training, JHA reviews, and facility walkthroughs.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
- Develop a productive team through cross-training, communication, and motivational techniques.
- Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information across shifts and departments.
- Deliver courteous and respectful customer service in high-pressure situations.
- Ensure inventory integrity and assist with physical inventory counts.
- Support the Operations Manager with special projects as needed.
- Assist in maintaining facility security and compliance with safety protocols.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in operations, warehouse, or supply chain environment required.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Labor Management experience preferred.
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with quality management methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Fundamental understanding of change management.
- Ability to lead and support teams in high-stress environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
